Speaker A:

Good morning.

Speaker A:

It's Haystack.

Speaker A:

And on a scale of 1 to 10, what's the worst pain that you've ever experienced in your life?

Speaker A:

Kidney stone.

Speaker A:

Broken bones, Had a kid.

Speaker A:

Somebody polled 5,000Americans and over half of us say that we've experienced probably about an 8 before.

Speaker A:

17% say they've never dealt with severe pain.

Speaker A:

Lucky them.

Speaker A:

And severe defined as 6 out of 10 or higher.

Speaker A:

Now, most of the painless crowd were younger folks, so that kind of makes sense.

Speaker A:

12% of us say 6 is the worst pain we've ever felt.

Speaker A:

8% said 7, 25% said 8.

Speaker A:

That was defined as very severe.

Speaker A:

10% said 9 and 24% said 10.

Speaker A:

So 59% of us say 8 or higher.

Speaker A:

55% of men and 63% of women.

Speaker A:

And I expected women to be higher, but I expected women to be more higher than that.

Speaker A:

I thought the divide would be bigger with the whole, you know, childbirth thing.

Speaker A:

Most everyone claimed to have at least an average pain tolerance.

Speaker A:

About half of us said higher, very high.

Speaker A:

And only 12% admitted that they had a very low tolerance tolerance for pain.

Speaker A:

Either way, 24% of us say that we've experienced a 10 on the pain scale before.

Speaker A:

I think that we can all agree we've experienced a 10 on the pain scale before based on these things that are clearly a 10 on the pain scale.

Speaker B:

Well, gather round, folks.

Speaker B:

It's the time of day when we laugh and smile in a light hearted way.

Speaker B:

Tune in for the giggles and let's kick back.

Speaker B:

Here comes the fun.

Speaker B:

It's the morning six pack.

Speaker A:

Yeah, we're taking a look at the top six things that we can all agree are a 10 on the pain scale.

Speaker A:

Number six, biting into a hot pocket right out of the microwave.

Speaker A:

Number five, listening to one more person gripe about the Stranger Things finale.

Speaker A:

Number four, waiting for your dog to go poo in the rain.

Speaker A:

Yeah, that one's rough.

Speaker A:

Number three, a wifi outage.

Speaker A:

Am I right, kids?

Speaker A:

Number two, checking your credit score.

Speaker A:

Oh, ow.

Speaker A:

It hurt just to say it out loud.

Speaker A:

And the number one thing we could all agree is a 10 on the pain scale.

Speaker A:

Realizing it's only day seven of dry January.

Speaker A:

Has me a drink.
