Speaker A:And there's a new study out revealing the most popular pet names.
Speaker A:And coming in at number one is Babe.
Speaker A:And this is a pretty significant poll.
Speaker A:We're talking about 25,000 people and 20% say they use Babe as a nickname for their significant other on a regular basis.
Speaker A:The next most popular nickname is Honey, or pet name, I should say.
Speaker A:But Honey is very divided when it comes to age.
Speaker A:So if you call your significant other Honey, you may be showing your age as just 6% of Gen Z use honey, but 22% of seniors use honey.
Speaker A:Coming in at third on the pet names list is Baby, which is the most popular pet name for gen Z at 15%.
Speaker A:I'm sure that's because of Justin Bieber.
Speaker A:Baby, Baby, Baby.
Speaker B:Oh.
Speaker A:Number four is Sweetheart, Again, more popular with older couples.
Speaker A:And number five is love.
Speaker A:Hello, love.
Speaker A:What are you, British?
Speaker A:Two percent say they use the terms dear, boo, bae or darling.
Speaker A:And just 1% call their partner angel, sugar, or pumpkin.
Speaker A:The poll finds that about half of couples do use pet names on a regular basis.
Speaker A:10% of people surveyed said they do not want their partner to use a pet name.
Speaker A:And 4% of people say they absolutely hate pet names.
Speaker A:But I think all these pet names would be different if we called our partner what we really wanted to call our partner.
