It's Haystack.

Speaker A:

I'm grateful that my dear friend Bama from rural Alabama is joining me on a Thursday morning.

Speaker A:

Since I was taking yesterday off Bama, and I appreciate you doing that for us, I was kind of wondering.

Speaker A:

I've been hearing a lot of people talk about this movie, the Odyssey.

Speaker A:

Have you heard anything about it?

Speaker B:

Oh, I heard about it, Haystack, and I am just so dad gum confused.

Speaker A:

Okay, well, what is it that has you confused?

Speaker B:

Well, when somebody said something about the Odyssey, I just naturally figured that they met one of them Honda Odyssey minivans.

Speaker A:

Well, yeah, naturally.

Speaker B:

Shoot, I got history with an Odyssey.

Speaker B:

That's where I gave birth to Shayla in the parking lot of a buc ee's.

Speaker A:

Okay, well, that's.

Speaker A:

That's certainly a memorable delivery room.

Speaker B:

We named her after pump number seven.

Speaker B:

Now, Bama, I don't think you.

Speaker A:

Did.

Speaker B:

No, no, you're right.

Speaker B:

Haystack pup number seven was her godmother.

Speaker A:

So you did eventually find out that this movie's not about a minivan, right?

Speaker B:

Yeah, yeah, I did.

Speaker B:

I looked it up on that Wikipedia thing and it says that it's based on a poem.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Yes, it is.

Speaker B:

Hey, Stack, how in the crap do you make a whole dadgum movie out of a poem?

Speaker A:

Well, it is a very long, very, very long famous poem.

Speaker B:

Uh huh.

Speaker B:

Well, the next thing you know, they're gonna cast Matt Damon is the man from Nantucket.

Speaker A:

Oh, no, no, that's.

Speaker A:

That's a completely different poem.

Speaker B:

Well, if Hollywood's out of ideas, don't put nothing past them.

Speaker A:

Well, fair enough.

Speaker B:

They ought to make a movie about my odyssey.

Speaker B:

You got minivans, you got BUC EE's.

Speaker B:

Three warrants, somebody losing a flip flop in labor.

Speaker B:

That's entertainment right there.

Speaker A:

I would actually watch that trailer,.

Speaker B:

You dad gum.

Speaker B:

Right you would.

Speaker A:

So what does the rest of your day look like, Bama?

Speaker B:

Well, I needs to get off here.

Speaker B:

I been emanating the smell of ham for the last three days, and I reckon I ought to figure out what's a causin that.

Speaker A:

Oh, goodness, please let that be laundry related.

Speaker B:
