Because you hear those, those phrases and I've always wondered what makes a person a night owl.

And there is a new large study about American bedtime routines.

Speaker A:

And we begin our nighttime nighttime routine.

I'm talking about the average.

And on average it takes about 21 minutes to get ready for bed.

The average American falling asleep at 11.18pm now of course things vary by based on how much you need to do the next morning and all that good stuff.

But the, the average American according to this survey, has three mornings a week where they wish they had gone to bed earlier and gone to sleep earlier.

And the top excuses for not getting to sleep earlier include needing to get chores done that they like to be up late because they're night owls or they want to connect with their partner.

And now it's August.

Speaker A:

So school age children getting ready to head to head to school and parents of those children are likely to get less sleep.

53% of parents say they have to get up earlier to get their kids ready for school and 25% so they have to stay up late to get lunches ready or help kids with the homework.
