Speaker A:

Good morning.

Speaker A:

I'm Haystack and I am pretty much eternally forever single.

Speaker A:

I occasionally try to get out and date a little bit and every once in a great while, if I stumble across a headline that catches my attention, I'll read it.

Speaker A:

And so some experts talking about the biggest mistakes that you can make on a first date.

Speaker A:

And I thought, I'm gonna, I'm gonna read this because let's be honest, first dates are already weird enough.

Speaker A:

Everyone's acting like they're auditioning for the role of person who has never had a red flag.

Speaker A:

But according to dating experts, one of the biggest mistakes people make on a first date is trying so hard to impress the other person you forget you're also supposed to be deciding if you even like them, which is true.

Speaker A:

I mean we, we treat first dates like job interviews where the job is possibly split a Sam's Club membership in a few years.

Speaker A:

I mean, there are a few people who get a little crazy, turn the date into a one person podcast.

Speaker A:

They don't ask any questions, they don't listen.

Speaker A:

It's just a 47 minute episode of here's my Divorce, My fantasy football team and why my boss is an idiot.

Speaker A:

But anyway, experts are the I thought the biggest one.

Speaker A:

And I love this skip dinner for a first date because that makes it feel too much like an interview.

Speaker A:

Try to do something more low pressure.

Speaker A:

Go play mini golf, go to the farmer's market, maybe go to a razorback game or watch a razorback game to see if they're prepared for heartbreak or already completely dead inside like you are.

Speaker A:

And I think we've got to.

Speaker A:

And according to experts, retire the whole three day or 24 hour, whatever the number is.

Speaker A:

The texting rule where you try not to be too eager.

Speaker A:

Forget it.

Speaker A:

If you like, somebody send them a message.

Speaker A:

We're all adults.

Speaker A:

We have mortgages or rent.

Speaker A:

We have back pain.

Speaker A:

We have phones stuck to our hands 19 hours a day.

Speaker A:

Quit it with the games.

Speaker A:

So yeah, dating expert advice there or dating advice there from experts, I should say.

Speaker A:

But I'm clearly not an expert.

Speaker A:

But I do think you should consider my list of the top six conversation starters that you should avoid on a first date.

Speaker B:

Well, gather round folks.

Speaker B:

It's the time of day when we laugh and smile in a light hearted way.

Speaker B:

Tune in for the giggles and let's kick back.

Speaker B:

Here comes the fun.

Speaker B:

It's the morning six pack.

Speaker A:

The top six conversation starters you should completely avoid on a first date.

Speaker A:

Coming in at number six.

Speaker A:

Do you think 911 was an inside job.

Speaker A:

Number five, what's your bra size?

Speaker A:

Number four, is this your first time going on a date with a wanted felon?

Speaker A:

Number three.

Speaker A:

You want to see what I accidentally did to myself while I was trimming down there?

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker B:

Oh, good.

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker A:

I'm sorry.

Speaker A:

Number two.

Speaker A:

Excuse me, miss.

Speaker A:

Who's your favorite serial killer?

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Not.

Speaker A:

That's.

Speaker A:

Do not use that for a conversation starter on a first date.

Speaker A:

The number one conversation starter you should absolutely avoid on a first date is, of course, you want to meet my wife.
