Good morning, A taste act and a wild study about Mondays.
Speaker A:Look, you may be more stressed right now than you are at any other point during the week, and I'm not about to help the situation.
Speaker A:Any studies find that Mondays stress us out, even if we're no longer working.
Speaker A:And they took this serious, y'.
Speaker A:All.
Speaker A:They.
Speaker A:They tested people's hair to.
Speaker A:To see how much of the stress hormone cortisol, they had been producing.
Speaker A:And for people who admitted that they tend to stress Mondays, their overall Cortisol levels were 23% higher than those who didn't.
Speaker A:Too much cortisol is really bad for you.
Speaker A:It increases your risk of heart disease, of weight gain.
Speaker A:But the crazy part is, this was true even for people who had retired.
Speaker A:The researchers hypothesized that the work week stress is so ingrained in us for so long that when you've spent most of your life stressing about work, stressing about school, stressing about, oh, no, it's Monday.
Speaker A:You just can't get over that feeling.
Speaker A:And so if you hate Mondays now, there's a very good chance you're still going to hate Mondays when you're well into your 70s, into your 80s and beyond.
