Speaker A:

Good morning, A taste act and a wild study about Mondays.

Speaker A:

Look, you may be more stressed right now than you are at any other point during the week, and I'm not about to help the situation.

Speaker A:

Any studies find that Mondays stress us out, even if we're no longer working.

Speaker A:

And they took this serious, y'.

Speaker A:

All.

Speaker A:

They.

Speaker A:

They tested people's hair to.

Speaker A:

To see how much of the stress hormone cortisol, they had been producing.

Speaker A:

And for people who admitted that they tend to stress Mondays, their overall Cortisol levels were 23% higher than those who didn't.

Speaker A:

Too much cortisol is really bad for you.

Speaker A:

It increases your risk of heart disease, of weight gain.

Speaker A:

But the crazy part is, this was true even for people who had retired.

Speaker A:

The researchers hypothesized that the work week stress is so ingrained in us for so long that when you've spent most of your life stressing about work, stressing about school, stressing about, oh, no, it's Monday.

Speaker A:

You just can't get over that feeling.

Speaker A:

And so if you hate Mondays now, there's a very good chance you're still going to hate Mondays when you're well into your 70s, into your 80s and beyond.

Speaker A:

But there are some things more stressful than a Monday, I promise you.

Speaker A:

So for perspective, to bring a little perspective, let's think about things that are worse than it being Monday.

Speaker A:

Well, gather round, folks.

Speaker A:

It's the time of day when we laugh and smile in a lighthearted way.

Speaker A:

Tune in for the giggles, and let's kick back.

Speaker A:

Here comes the fun.

Speaker A:

It's the morning six pack.

Speaker A:

The top six things that make us more stressed that fill us with even more dread then waking up to realize it's Monday.

Speaker A:

Number six, our kids saying, wait a second, this isn't a real.

Speaker A:

Number five.

Speaker A:

The check engine light comes on in the middle of nowhere, like, you know, South Oklahoma.

Speaker A:

Trust me, I have firsthand knowledge of how stressful that is.

Speaker A:

Number four.

Speaker A:

When you hear your tattoo artist say, oops, yeah, it's stressful.

Speaker A:

Number three, the person in the public restroom before you rushed away while kind of sheepishly trying to hide their face.

Speaker A:

Oh, no.

Speaker A:

What are you about to encounter in there?

Speaker A:

Can you hold it?

Speaker A:

Do you have to go in?

Speaker A:

And that happened the other day out in.

Speaker A:

Out in Marble at the Kings River Country Store.

Speaker A:

I was like, oh, no.

Speaker A:

This is gonna be so scary.

Speaker A:

The Revenge of the Chicken Fried.

Speaker A:

Sorry.

Speaker A:

Number number two, Opening your mailbox and seeing a jury summons.

Speaker A:

Ooh, knock on wood.

Speaker A:

Been fortunate enough to not see one of those.

Speaker A:

The number one thing that fills us with even more dread than waking up to realize it's a Monday, being an Arkansas Razorback fan and waking up to realize it's football season.

Speaker A:

Go Hogs.
