Episode 522
Taylor on Camera, Fans Off the Rails: TDS Is Real
Taylor Swift is getting NFL fans riled up again because NBC won’t stop cutting to her during the Chiefs game Sunday night. I say it’s not really Taylor’s fault — it’s the camera director swooning over celebs while we just want the replay. She celebrated when Travis Kelce scored (pointed at her ring, didn’t storm the field), but the broadcast acted like she personally caught the TD. My take: either stick a tiny Taylor picture-in-picture on Peacock or give us a “Taylor’s Version” stream and everyone chills. Also calling out the syndrome: TDS (Taylor Derangement Syndrome) seems real — mostly middle-aged dudes mad at a successful woman having fun. I’m over here laughing, handing out support group flyers, and still wanting my damn replay.
Takeaways:
- I don't think this is really about Taylor — it's the TV director cutting to her and stealing the replays.
- During the Chiefs game NBC kept panning to Taylor in the suite, and honestly a lot of fans just wanted the replay, not celebrity close-ups.
- She pointed at her wedding ring and yelled 'that's my husband' — totally normal celebration, not some on-field touchdown heist.
- We even joked about running a picture-in-picture Taylor stream or a 'Taylor's Version' Peacock feed so football purists and Swifties can each get what they want.
- We call it TDS — Taylor Derangement Syndrome — which the show jokes mostly affects middle-aged men who get weirdly mad at successful women.

It's haystack.
Speaker A:And yet again, Taylor Swift is getting on the nerves of NFL fans.
Speaker B:They're.
Speaker A:They're once again complaining.
Speaker A:Now.
Speaker A:I don't, I don't think this is really so much about Taylor.
Speaker A:It's about the cameras.
Speaker A:I mean, during the, the Chiefs game Sunday night, NBC kept cutting to Taylor Swift in the suite because of course they did.
Speaker A:Travis Kelsey made a play.
Speaker A:Taylor, touchdown, Taylor commercial on the way.
Speaker A:Probably Taylor breathing near a nacho or something.
Speaker A:After Kelsey scored, she pointed at her wedding ring and yelled, that's my husband.
Speaker A:Which honestly is exactly what you'd want a wife to do, I would think, right?
Speaker A:I mean, she didn't run onto the field.
Speaker A:She didn't call the play.
Speaker C:That was a call play.
Speaker C:And I called it, Chuck.
Speaker D:All right, well, congratulations.
Speaker C:And I made some good calls today.
Speaker D:You sure did.
Speaker D:You sure did.
Speaker A:If.
Speaker A:If, you know, you know.
Speaker A:Anyway, Taylor didn't do any of that.
Speaker A:She just celebrated.
Speaker A:But the broadcast kind of treats her like she personally caught the touchdown sometimes.
Speaker A:And so football fans get irritated because if you just want football, you're thinking, great, they've got a happy marriage.
Speaker A:Can we see the replay?
Speaker A:And again, to be fair, Taylor Swift is not forcing NBC to show Taylor Swift.
Speaker A:She's just sitting there.
Speaker A:The director is the one going, kelsey caught a six yard pass.
Speaker A:Quick find the pop star.
Speaker A:At this point, they should just put a Taylor picture in picture box in the corner all game.
Speaker A:Or just run the Taylor's version stream on the Peacock app with just her up there with the screen down small, the game down small.
Speaker A:Then Taylor fans get what they want and everybody can calm down just a little bit.
Speaker A:Although again, to be fair, Taylor Swift not asking for it.
Speaker A:And somehow she just really seems to get under a lot of people's skin.
Speaker A:You know, if a strong, smart, rich woman living her best life puts you into a rage, you should probably seek help.
Speaker B:Do you get angry at other people's happiness?
Speaker E:Look at her pointing at her wedding ring.
Speaker E:I can't stand her.
Speaker B:Are you mad about things that don't affect you?
Speaker E:I tell you, if I lived anywhere near that Madison Square Garden wedding, I'd be so annoyed at those street closures.
Speaker B:Then you may suffer from tds.
Speaker B:Taylor Durant syndrome.
Speaker E:I think my daughter loves Taylor Swift more than she loves me.
Speaker A:TDS affects mostly middle aged men who hate seeing smart, successful women enjoying their lives.
Speaker E:She kind of said something political once too, and I just don't want to.
Speaker A:Hear it if Taylor Swift's beauty and talent rubs you the wrong way.
Speaker B:Way, way, way, way.
Speaker A:Seek help at the TDS Institute.
Speaker E:Look, I knew she was trouble when she walked in, and so we've got some bad bl.
Speaker E:Now look what you made me do.
Speaker B:Get the support you need for your Taylor Derangement Syndrome.
Speaker E:I'm patient zero over here.
