Sound Statistics - Uh Oh Sounds & Confessions

Published on: 17th August, 2026

I run Sound Statistics — my dumb little game where I read a weird stat, drop a silly sound, and we all guess the missing word. First up: 70% of people do something in their car every single week but only 30% will admit it. A quarter of kids say the worst part of riding with their parents is when Mom or Dad do what? And yeah, about 34% of people have shown up to work wearing this — embarrassing.

Sound statistics.

Speaker A:

Sound statistics.

Speaker A:

Guess the number, hear the clue.

Speaker A:

Sound statistics.

Speaker A:

Sound statistics.

Speaker A:

Haystacks.

Speaker A:

Got a question for you.

Speaker A:

That's right.

Speaker B:

It is time for sound Statistics, the game where I give you a weird stat and then a sound effect as a hint because regular trivia is not nerdy enough until I make it.

Speaker B:

Make noises.

Speaker B:

Question 1.

Speaker B:

70% Of people do this in their vehicle each and every week, but only 30% of us will admit to it.

Speaker B:

Again, 70% do this in their vehicle every week.

Speaker B:

Only 30% admit to it.

Speaker B:

That's a ton of things you do in your vehicle.

Speaker B:

You probably shouldn't admit to.

Speaker B:

Singing badly, eating fries out of the bag before you get home, pretending you don't see the check engine light.

Speaker B:

Okay, here is your sound effect hint.

Speaker B:

Uh oh.

Speaker B:

Uh oh.

Speaker B:

We know what that is.

Speaker B:

The answer is run a red light.

Speaker B:

70% Of people will run a red light every single week.

Speaker B:

Only 30% admit it.

Speaker B:

So I guess the other 40% of us believe it was yellow.

Speaker B:

When you commit emotionally is a legal defense.

Speaker B:

It was yellow when I.

Speaker B:

When I knew.

Speaker B:

Let's be honest, there are two kinds of drivers.

Speaker B:

People who run red lights and those of us who call it making it through on orange.

Speaker B:

It might have been a really dark orange, but it was orange.

Speaker B:

Dadgummit.

Speaker B:

All right, here we go.

Speaker B:

Question number two.

Speaker B:

25% Of kids say that the worst thing about riding with their parents is when their parents do what.

Speaker B:

The worst part of riding with their parents is their parents doing what?

Speaker B:

Sing too loud, drive too slow, tell the same story over and over again.

Speaker B:

Maybe use the phrase back when I was your age, and all of a sudden the trip becomes a documentary.

Speaker B:

All right, here is your sound effect.

Speaker B:

H.

Speaker A:

Huh?

Speaker B:

Okay, okay, I get it, I get it, I get it, I get it.

Speaker B:

Calm down.

Speaker B:

The answer is actually not honk the horn.

Speaker B:

But if I'd have played a sound of someone yelling, that would have given it away.

Speaker B:

The answer is yell at other drivers.

Speaker B:

Just felt like it's all kind of road ragey lumped into one thing.

Speaker B:

A fourth of children say the worst thing about riding with their parents is when their parents yell at other drivers.

Speaker B:

This is hilarious to me because parents spend years teaching children to use their inside voice.

Speaker B:

Then they get behind the wheel and start narrating traffic like they're a wrestling announcer.

Speaker B:

You know, nothing bonds a family like mom yelling.

Speaker B:

Nice blinker, Blankety Blank.

Speaker B:

Bleep.

Speaker B:

Genius.

Speaker B:

And the kids learn four new vocabulary words.

Speaker B:

All right, one more.

Speaker B:

This one's.

Speaker B:

This one's pretty.

Speaker B:

Dad.

Speaker B:

Gum.

Speaker B:

Goofy.

Speaker B:

34% Of people have made this fashion faux pas at work by wearing this on their clothes.

Speaker B:

34% Of people have made this fashion faux pas at work while wearing by wearing this on their clothes.

Speaker B:

Now, that could be a ton of stuff, I suppose.

Speaker B:

Could be a sticker, a pin, a weird work button from a company retreat, a dryer sheet clinging to your pants for dear life like it has a band issues.

Speaker B:

All right, here's your sound effect.

Speaker B:

Hint.

Speaker B:

What?

Speaker B:

Okay, let's hear that again.

Speaker B:

Huh?

Speaker B:

That is the sound of a.

Speaker B:

Like a scanner at a checkout.

Speaker B:

Because the answer is price tag.

Speaker B:

34% Of people have gone to work with the price tag on their clothes, which is embarrassing, I guess.

Speaker B:

Unless the outfit looks good and then it's, you know, do I get it on sale?

Speaker B:

You're bragging about how cheap you bought the clothes that look good.

Speaker B:

Nothing like walking to a meeting trying to look professional, and your sleeve is quietly telling everybody, clearance rack.

Speaker B:

Anyway, there you go.

Speaker B:

That's sound statistics.

Speaker B:

My silly weird numbers game with noisy clues.

Speaker B:

Proof that I can turn everyday embarrassment into a radio game show.

Speaker A:

It's nerdy, it's noisy, it's facts with a kink.

Speaker A:

Sound statistics.
