Speaker A:Hey, Stacks, got a question for you.
Speaker B:This is the game where I give you a statistic and then a sound effect to help you figure it out, because regular trivia is not nerdy enough.
Speaker B:Question number one.
Speaker B:50% Of young women will do this three times a day.
Speaker B:And each time they do this, they'll spend an average of 48 minutes doing it.
Speaker B:Now, 48 minutes is kind of a lot of time if you think about it.
Speaker B:For doing something three times a day, 48 minutes is longer than some marriages, longer than most meetings, longer than every quick trip my girlfriend's ever made to Walmart.
Speaker B:Here is.
Speaker B:Here's your sound effect.
Speaker B:And again, that is, of course, supposed to be the sound effect of a camera shutter, because it's take a selfie.
Speaker B:And apparently each selfie takes, on average, 48 minutes.
Speaker B:I mean, a selfie session for a young lady can include makeup, lighting, angles, retakes, deleting the first 40, and finally posting the one where you look effortless.
Speaker B:Nothing says spontaneous like a 48 minute photo shoot in your front seat.
Speaker B:Question number two.
Speaker B:As of yesterday, the 15th of July, 62% of parents have started to do this.
Speaker B:As of July 15th, 62% of parents have started to do this.
Speaker B:And if you're a parent, you probably already know the answer because your bank account felt it already.
Speaker B:Here's your hint.
Speaker B:I am, of course, talking about back to school shopping.
Speaker B:That was a school bell.
Speaker B:Do they even use school bells anymore?
Speaker B:I feel so old asking that.
Speaker B:Parents are spending an average of $557 per child for grades K through 12, which is a lot.
Speaker B:I mean, you think about it, you see the list and it says two folders and a glue stick.
Speaker B:And then the total comes out to the price of a used jet sk.
Speaker B:It's absolutely crazy how expensive stuff's gotten.
Speaker B:All right, question number three.
Speaker B:93% Of us buy one or more of these every single month.
Speaker B:93% Of us.
Speaker B:And for the 7% who don't.
Speaker B:Don't worry, I got you covered.
Speaker B:93% Of us buy one or more of these every month.
Speaker B:Here is your sound hint.
Speaker B:And I think this is the hardest one I've done yet.
Speaker B:Can you make that out?
Speaker B:That is the sound of a cardboard box folding being packed up.
Speaker B:Because the answer is pizza.
Speaker B:93% Of us buy a pizza.
Speaker B:One or more pizzas every single month.
Speaker B:So the other 7% are either lying, lactose intolerant, or being held hostage by salad, which is pretty dangerous these days.
Speaker B:If you're in that 7%, I'm not judging you.
Speaker B:I'm just saying that spiritually.
Speaker B:Spiritually?
Speaker B:Spiritually.
Speaker B:I don't know why I can't say spiritually all of a sudden.
Speaker B:You need help almost as much as I do.
Speaker B:You need some extra cheese anyway.
Speaker B:There we go.
Speaker B:That's this morning's edition of Sound Statistics.
Speaker A:It's nerdy, it's noisy, it's facts with a kick.
Speaker A:Sound Statistics Sound Stat six.
