Good morning.
Speaker A:It's Haystack.
Speaker A:And there's a study that asked people about their toughest, their most stressful life decisions.
Speaker A:And this large scale study finds that most people's toughest life decisions have a consistent theme.
Speaker A:And that theme is perceived risk.
Speaker A:So here are the top 10.
Speaker A:And the top three all have to do with money.
Speaker A:They number one, whether or not to take a new job.
Speaker A:Number two, whether or not to quit your current job without already having another job.
Speaker A:Number three, whether to invest money.
Speaker A:There's one more I'm surprised was not in the top three.
Speaker A:We'll get to that in just a second.
Speaker A:Number four, whether to drive a car.
Speaker A:And when I say whether, I'm talking about whether you're too tired or you've had a couple of drinks and you're buzzed and you maybe know you should not, or if there's bad weather.
Speaker A:One time I left to go to northeast Arkansas to see my family on Christmas Day.
Speaker A:No, wait.
Speaker A:Yeah, it was Christmas.
Speaker A:And I said, oh, I can make it.
Speaker A:I'm in a truck.
Speaker A:We'll be fine.
Speaker A:And it was one of those icy Arkansas storms.
Speaker A:And I got to Alpena Pass, which is normally about an hour away, and it had taken me three and a half hours to get there.
Speaker A:And I called my mom in tears and I said, I'm sorry I can't be home for Christmas.
Speaker A:And I turned around and come back to Fayetteville.
Speaker A:Let's see here.
Speaker A:Sorry.
Speaker A:Number five, whether to become self employed.
Speaker A:Number six, whether to buy a house.
Speaker A:Number seven, whether to get surgery.
Speaker A:These are the top 10 most stressful decisions people make.
Speaker A:Number eight, whether to get married.
Speaker A:I really thought that would be higher up the list.
Speaker A:Number nine, whether to get vaccinated.
Speaker A:That, of course, thanks to the last decade or so, I don't think that would have been in the top 25 a decade ago.
Speaker A:And number 10, whether or not to move to another country.
Speaker A:Others in the top 25 include whether or not to have children, to get an education or training to meet certain people, whether or not to get insurance, whether or not to leave the house at all.
Speaker A:That one's super relatable.
Speaker A:It's not surprising there is a wide range of responses.
Speaker A:But there are those decisions that take no time at all because they're, they're just common sense.
Speaker A:Like anything from this list of the top six life decisions that shouldn't be stressful because the answer is obviously yes.
Speaker A:Best way to start your day.
Speaker A:These six jokes.
Speaker A:He's about to say, listen up for old Haystack crack open the morning.
