Morning 6-Pack - 6 Signs You’re Not Ready for Sky Driving (yes, you)

Published on: 22nd October, 2026

We're counting down the top six reasons you should never, ever get behind the wheel of a flying car. I'm Haystack, and after Elon Musk's rocket‑car tease and a poll that found 41% would maybe ride, 46% would nope out, and 12% are on the fence, we figured it's time to roast the whole idea. I jab at the demographics — young Southern dudes are weirdly hyped, seniors? Not so much, only 13% say they'd definitely try it. Then I rip through six quick, joke‑packed reasons — stuff like cars held together by duct tape and driving records rated R — to show why some people shouldn't be trusted at 500 feet. It's fast, snarky, and I save the biggest punchline for last (no spoilers), so come laugh with us while we explain why the sky should stay a no‑fly zone for certain folks.

Takeaways:

  • I riff on flying cars — Musk’s demo looked like a rocket on a supercar, honestly.
  • We hit poll numbers: 41% say yes or probably yes, 46% say no or probably no, and 12% undecided.
  • I point out who wants to float above traffic: young Southern men wanna 'hold my beer' about this, seniors nope.
  • We roll through the Morning 6-Pack with reasons like duct-taped rides, R-rated driving records, airbags as hobbies, knee jokes, and DUI checkpoints knowing you by name.
  • I keep the big finale secret here — you’ll laugh, we tease, and I refuse to spoil the number-one punchline.

Speaker A:

It's Haystack.

Speaker A:

We've been promised flying cars for what, about 70 years now?

Speaker A:

I mean, essentially every futuristic cartoon had flying cars.

Speaker A:

Every.

Speaker A:

Every movie had flying cars.

Speaker A:

We were.

Speaker A:

We were all supposed to be commuting through the sky by now.

Speaker A:

But did we get flying cars?

Speaker A:

No, no.

Speaker A:

We got Bluetooth toothbrushes.

Speaker A:

But now Elon Musk has shown off something that's at least a little closer.

Speaker A:

Now, look, this thing looks a whole lot less like a flying car and a whole lot more like somebody strapped a rocket booster to a supercar and said, eh, let's see what happens.

Speaker A:

But this is the closest that we've come.

Speaker A:

So naturally, somebody asked Americans in a poll, they said, would you actually ride in a flying car?

Speaker A:

Not this one specifically, but just generically in a flying car.

Speaker A:

And.

Speaker A:

And 41% of us said yes or probably yes.

Speaker A:

46% Said no or probably no.

Speaker A:

And 12% are standing in line at the coaster going, I don't know, man, maybe, maybe not.

Speaker A:

What I love is when you look at demographics, when you break it down by region and age, well, there's no big surprise here.

Speaker A:

The most excited about flying cars.

Speaker A:

Young men in the South.

Speaker A:

Yeah, of course.

Speaker A:

Oh, you're telling me the people that are most likely to say, hold my beer, watch this, are the ones that want airborne automobiles?

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

That's shocking.

Speaker A:

Meanwhile, seniors are the ones most often saying, no, no, not doing it.

Speaker A:

Only 13% of seniors say that they would definitely ride in one.

Speaker A:

And honestly, I kind of get it.

Speaker A:

I mean, if you've spent 50 years watching people fail to use turn signals on the ground, why would you trust them at 500ft?

Speaker A:

So, yeah, if you look all across America, 27% of us say absolutely zero interest in flying cars.

Speaker A:

And I really hope that you're one of those 27%.

Speaker A:

If you can relate to any of these six things that tell us why you should never get behind the wheel of a flying car.

Speaker A:

Best way to start your day, these six jokes he's about to say, listen up.

Speaker A:

For old Haystack, crack open the morning six pack again.

Speaker A:

These are the top six reasons that you are somebody who should never, ever get behind the wheel of a flying car.

Speaker A:

Coming in at number six, your car is 90% duct tape.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Don't get behind the wheel of a flying car.

Speaker A:

Number five, your driving record is rated R for extreme violence.

Speaker A:

Number four, your favorite pastime is deploying airbags.

Speaker A:

Number three, your attitude is, if God didn't want us to drive with our legs, he wouldn't have given us knees.

Speaker A:

Number two.

Speaker A:

The cops who work your local DUI checkpoint know you by name.

Speaker A:

And the number one reason that you are someone who should absolutely, never, ever get behind the wheel of a flying car.

Speaker A:

You caused so many payouts from Aflac that their duck finally told you to aflac off.
