It's Haystack here.
Speaker A:And GasBuddy has released a forecast warning that this could become the most expensive summer for gas prices in many, many years.
Speaker A:National averages could hover around $4.80 a gallon between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Speaker A:Prices could break past $5.
Speaker A:If global tensions keep getting worse.
Speaker A:Maybe even we may even see $6.
Speaker A:At some point, Memorial Day gas prices alone will average $4.48.
Speaker A:It's projected last Memorial Day $3.14.
Speaker A:So it's about $1.34 difference.
Speaker A:What is crazy though, is that Americans, according to these surveys, still plan to travel in huge numbers this summer.
Speaker A:In fact, AAA says that millions will hit the road anyway because nothing, not inflation, not airfare, not hotel prices, not $6 a gallon gas can stop us from aggressively needing a little bit of a getaway.
Speaker A:And honestly, at this point, family vacations are starting to feel less like recreation and more like financial endurance events.
Speaker A:I really don't understand to some degree how people do it.
